I was born May 7, 1957, in the fairly large city of Marseilles, France. Both my parents passed away and I was placed in an Orphanage.
I was finally adopted and was flown to America to meet my new family, when I was about three years old. My new parents picked me up in Waco, Texas. I don't remember this but my mother does because she likes to relate a story about this time to all her friends and mine (how embarrassing). The story goes sort of like this; When my new parents picked me up at the airport in Waco, Texas, my hair was very, very, very, very, very long. Because they had asked for a boy, they pulled my pants down in the middle of the airport to make sure they had gotten what they wanted. I passed the test!!!!
After the airport scene, we then went on to El Paso, Texas. I lived in El Paso for two years and then moved to Highrolls, New Mexico, where I went to first grade. I remember that real well because that is when I got my first kiss from a girl and it was the same year that John F. Kennedy was assassinated.
After first grade, we moved to Roswell, New Mexico where I lived for the next 12 years.
Of all the lessons I learned while growing up, this is the most remembered. My adopted father instilled in to me that if I wanted something, I had to work for it, so at age nine I started mowing peoples yards. I probably mowed every yard in Roswell! I did pretty well cause I went through three motorcycles and three cars before graduating high school (I won't elaborate on why I went through so many motorcycles and cars).
I graduated High School in 1974/75 from Robert H. Goddard Sr. High School and was offered an ROTC Scholarship but turned it down because I was in so much love with a young lady (had been my girlfriend since second grade). Her father was a policeman so you get the idea of what I had in mind. Instead of being a city or county police officer, I wanted to serve my country and be a policeman that way. So, I joined the army in 1975.
Well, I spent the next 22 years of my life serving my country. I've been everywhere, seen everything, and done everything. I actually spent the whole 22 years as a Military Policeman. In October 1997, I finally retired from the army. I've settled down in Georgia and now have started a new career within the Airline Industry. Boy what a great bunch of people. I'm looking forward to the next 22 years with this new career.
